1.) The Narrows

– Fighting the current as you hike up the slight incline of the river

Pro tip- Waterproof/disposable shoes are a huge help when wadding through the slippery rocked river.
2.) Emerald Pools

Pro tip- This trail connects to the Sand Bench loop, so you can easily hit both hikes without having to hop back on the shuttle.
3.) Pa'rus Trail

Distance- 3.5miles out and back

Par’rus Trail is the easiest hike in the park, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it. This winding trail follows alongside a slow moving river as it sits in the shadow of the red rock cliffs.

– A paved path with multiple bridges over the river
– The perfect easy introduction to Zion National Park
– A smooth level path, a very comfortable walk
– Plenty of trail offshoots leading down to the water

4.) Sand Bench Loop

Different from the other trails in Zion, the Sand Bench Loop hike trades tough rocky terrain and open views for a sandy stroll through desert like trees and shrubs. You might even see a horse or two walking the trail.
WHAT TO EXPECT
– A trail mainly comprised of soft, powdery sand
– Occasional run-ins with horses
– Leads up a brush filled mountainside, then loops back down
– A very underrated hike for pictures
Pro tip- When approaching the fork for the loop, take the left path, as the rockier area makes it easier to hike up compared to the sandy right path.
5.) Angels Landing

Distance- 5.4miles total out and back

Of course, no Zion hikes list would be complete without one of the most famous hikes in the United States, Angels Landing. A grueling hike up the Zion Valley followed by a true thrill seekers trail, but when you see the majestic view down the valley, it’s all well worth it.

NOT a shuttle stop,, Away from the Zion Canyon Scenic Dr, this spot is often overlooked, but that just makes it one of the most underrated hikes in Zion National Park. Of the many incredible sunset spots in Utah, the Canyon Overlook is one of the best!
